How to Get a Partner Interested

Question:  My girl friend said she would think about the idea of producing milk.  I don't want to push her, but I am looking for any ideas or suggestions that might help her make a decision that we will both enjoy.

You're lucky, you're half way there!

Don't pressure her about producing milk. She might feel like you are viewing her as a milk factory. 

First, focus on the relationship. You're both going to have to be committed to this. This means every day, seven days a week. Start out slow.  Every day spend some quiet time together. Part of that time suck on her breast for about a half an hour, fifteen minutes on each breast. Remember, it's not about milk at this point. She will start to look forward to this. Talk about your feelings with her. Do this for about a month.  The most important thing is to just enjoy each other. Add five minutes to each breast and add a second nursing time in the day. You're going to have to latch onto the breast and not just the nipple. The more times the breast is stimulated the better. You'll need to nurse at least three times a day. If you can't, she'll need to use a good quality breast pump (the cheap ones are a waste of money). 

Again remember:  This can't be just a whim; it's a commitment.
